Paul Klee's Untitled (Sun-Eye over Landscape) — a 1930 Bauhaus-era work where Klee sought to make the invisible visible through floating glyphs, on gallery canvas.
Visual Presence
A round yellow sun-eye floats above a stylised landscape of black, ochre, brown and pale blue. Small symbolic forms — a star-shape, a kite, a square block of stones — hover in the dark central field. The palette is muted: warm earth tones balanced by a single saturated yellow oval at the top.
About the Art
Paul Klee (1879–1940) was a Swiss-German painter, theorist, and Bauhaus master whose intuitive, sign-making approach influenced 20th-century abstraction. This untitled 1930 work belongs to his mature period at the Bauhaus and (after 1931) the Düsseldorf Academy, when his compositions distilled into floating colour fields and symbolic glyphs. Klee believed art should 'make the invisible visible' — his small-format paintings combine childlike directness with deep formal control.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4 cm (1.57 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
