Visual Presence
A hillside town spills downward in a dense weave of white-walled houses, angled roofs tilting at whimsical angles amid deep, banked greenery. Ochre, coral and a single vivid yellow facade punctuate the cluster, with a pale lake and blue mountains sitting behind under a brushy grey-blue sky. The palette is lush and summery — saturated greens, warm ochres and soft blues in restless harmony.
About the Art
Egon Schiele returned again and again to Krumau, his mother's Bohemian birthplace, and here renders the town in high summer as a jostling mass of gabled houses seen from above. He favours an expressive handling that distorts the buildings and intensifies their colour, packing white, ochre and coral facades between banks of dense foliage. Fluid, rhythmic contours run through the roofs and trees, and a pale ribbon of lake and distant hills close the view. Rather than topographic accuracy, Schiele pursues a living, tapestried surface in which architecture and nature interlock. The painting is held in a private collection.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
