A tall Pre-Raphaelite canvas print in aqua and green. The sheet of jade water throws cool colour down a hallway, stairwell or hotel reception, and the thin bright-green stream falling the full height of the canvas keeps drawing the eye up the wall.
Visual Presence
At two to three metres tall the canvas stands like a column of deep teal, cooling its wall the way waterlight cools a room. From across the space only the pale figure and the glowing green stream register, so the piece pulls people down a corridor or up a staircase toward it. Under evening lamps the brown woodland across the top warms while the jade pool below keeps its glow, holding the wall between warm and cool.
About the Art
John William Waterhouse painted Circe at her most dangerous: not offering the cup but pouring poison, tipping a bowl of vivid green venom into the pool where the nymph Scylla bathes. The story is Ovid's — the sea-god Glaucus refused Circe's love, so she destroyed the rival he wanted — and Waterhouse balances the enchantress on the coils of the monster Scylla is about to become. The second of his three Circe paintings, it was acquired by the Art Gallery of South Australia in Adelaide the same year it was painted. We chose it for the pour: one stroke of luminous green held in mid-fall.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
