Presence

A tall semi-abstract composition rendered in mixed media with heavy impasto on oversize canvas. Dominant palette of muted green, grey, and brown with fragments of pink, red, and yellow embedded in the surface. A central tree form and its water reflection create a vertical axis. Surface texture is substantial — built up with palette knife and broad gestural marks.

Art Story

This painting came from a time when I had done everything I knew how to do and the doing stopped meaning anything. The tree by the water was just standing there — finished. Not dying, not growing. Done. I recognised that feeling in my own body. The colours came out muted because the energy was not pushing anywhere. It was the quietest painting I ever made and the heaviest.

Spatial Function

Forgotten functions as a grounding anchor in architectural and residential environments. The tall format and muted palette create a settling atmospheric presence suitable for meditation rooms, private studies, hallway termini, and contemplative spaces where deep stillness rather than activation is required.

Every Limited Edition print includes a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate carries Summer Jiang's signature, the edition number (e.g. 12 of 49), title, and date. The canvas itself is also signed on the verso in permanent ink for archival protection.

The certificate arrives sealed in a dark envelope, separate from the artwork.

Summer Jiang

Summer Jiang trained at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). A committed camper and hiker, she works in large-scale acrylic, translating the colour and movement of the Australian landscape into pieces built to hold a wall.
