Presence

The elongated landscape format creates horizontal momentum — the bird's flight extends laterally across the full width of the canvas. Drips and runs in the watercolour layers give the forest a dissolving quality, as if the environment itself is breaking apart around the moving form. Mineral pigments build the bird's dense, solid body against the atmospheric washes of the surrounding landscape.

Art Story

I painted a bird that would not stop flying. The forest was falling apart — water dripping, colour running, everything dissolving. The bird flew through it anyway. Not beautifully. Not wisely. Just forward, because stopping was not an option. I know that bird. I have been that bird. Unbreakable is not a compliment. It is a diagnosis.

Every Limited Edition print includes a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate carries Summer Jiang's signature, the edition number (e.g. 12 of 49), title, and date. The canvas itself is also signed on the verso in permanent ink for archival protection.

The certificate arrives sealed in a dark envelope, separate from the artwork.

Summer Jiang trained at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). A committed camper and hiker, she works in large-scale acrylic, translating the colour and movement of the Australian landscape into pieces built to hold a wall.
