Presence

A vertical landscape in mixed media — acrylic and ink on linen canvas. The composition is bisected horizontally: luminous yellow-gold above, rich brown earth below. Scattered colour accents — red, green, lavender — emerge from the textured lower register. Heavy impasto builds surface depth across the earth zone while the upper field remains open and light-saturated. Mineral pigments lend the work surface luminosity that shifts with ambient light.

Art Story

I painted dawn as a division. Not the soft gradient people imagine, but a hard line between dark and light. Walking through dawn means walking through the moment where the old life ends and the new one is visible. It is not gentle. It is a willing break — clearing what no longer serves so the path is passable.

Spatial Function

Walk Through Dawn functions as a catalyst in transitional environments. The vertical format and threshold composition make it especially suited to hallways, entryways, doorways between rooms, and spaces where a beginning needs to be marked. The upper gold field generates warmth while the dark earth below adds grounding weight. The work operates as a directional cue — pointing toward purposeful forward movement rather than passive contemplation. Recommended for spaces where clearing, renewal, or transition is underway.
