Presence

A vertically oriented acrylic work on linen canvas presenting two distinct visual zones. The upper register features warm orange, gold, and pink cliff formations surrounding a turquoise waterfall pool, rendered in heavy impasto with visible palette knife texture. The lower register shifts to deep purple, violet, and blue passages with elongated vertical structures suggesting submerged depth. A solitary figure positioned at the transition point between zones anchors the composition centrally. Mineral pigments throughout create surface luminosity that responds to changing ambient light conditions. Art Story

I have always loved water — it is where I disappear. Waterfalls have their own magic where the sound takes you somewhere your mind cannot hold. This painting came at a moment in my life when I had seen everything clearly — the vision was complete, luminous, satisfying. But I had not moved. The figure sitting at the threshold is me, resting in that exact pause between knowing and beginning.

Spatial Function

The dual-zone composition introduces a contemplative pause into any installation environment. Warm upper tones generate ambient comfort and visual warmth, while the cooler lower register adds depth and reflective weight. Every Limited Edition print includes a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate carries Summer Jiang's signature, the edition number (e.g. 12 of 49), title, and date. The canvas itself is also signed on the verso in permanent ink for archival protection.

The certificate arrives sealed in a dark envelope, separate from the artwork.
