Title: Against the Tide by Summer Jiang
A small swimmer crosses deep blue water beneath towering purple rock formations — the private conflict no one on the shore can see.
Hand-signed limited edition of 49, supplied with a certificate of authenticity.

Presence

Square-format canvas. Acrylic mineral pigments in layered application. Deep blue and purple rock formations dominate the upper register. Blue water with green reflections fills the lower half. A small human figure swims at centre. A single warm orange rock provides tonal contrast. Brushwork is bold with visible directional strokes.

Art Story

I swam against a current in water so blue it looked like the sky had fallen. The rocks around me were enormous and indifferent. Nobody could see the fight. From the shore I looked like someone enjoying a swim. Inside I was holding everything — every truth I could not say, every conflict I would not release. This painting is that invisible war.

Spatial Function

This work introduces contemplative weight into square spaces. The dominant blue palette and rock formations create a centring presence suited to private studies, therapy rooms, or personal offices where internal work and endurance are acknowledged.
