Presence

A vertical mixed media work on linen canvas. A green seated figure in a meditative pose holds a blue sphere at its centre, surrounded by cascading yellow-green leaves, white flowers, and a rich pink-purple background with dripping watercolour texture. The figure's skin is the same tone as the surrounding foliage — leaves appear to grow from the body as if the distinction between person and earth was always an illusion. Mineral pigments create saturated colour fields throughout. The vertical format elevates the composition into an icon-like form.

Art Story

I painted a figure that was not sitting ON the earth but sitting AS the earth. The green was not skin — it was ground. The blue was not a belly — it was water. The flowers were not decoration — they were growth that happens when the boundary between body and world dissolves. Mother Earth is not outside. She is the body that remembers it was always made of soil.

Mother Earth functions as an anchor in meditation rooms, sacred spaces, and private contemplative environments.
