Abstract Composition on Orange — Wassily Kandinsky

An extra large Geometric Abstract canvas print in orange and white. Its warm, radiant field and calm geometry suit a wellness space, an executive office, a dining room or a study wanting a single glowing statement.

Visual Presence

A warm amber-orange field fills the sheet, its centre softened by a pale, cloud-like glow. Slim triangles banded in green, violet, pink and yellow converge toward the middle, met by a small orange arrow and ruled parallel lines, while a half-shaded blue moon hovers upper right and a tiny diamond and stepped ladder motif punctuate the edges. The mood is spare and radiant — a few precise, jewel-toned forms suspended in glowing orange space.

About the Art

The abstract forms poised on an orange ground reflect Kandinsky's practice of composing geometric elements against a unifying colour field, a method he developed through his Bauhaus years and his systematic colour theory. He treated orange as a warm, forward-pressing colour, and used saturated grounds to hold and energise the shapes arranged upon them. The result is a composition where form and colour are weighed against one another as independent pictorial forces rather than describing any scene.
