Abstract Composition with Black Arc — Wassily Kandinsky

A large Geometric Abstract canvas print in yellow and white. Its quiet, atmospheric palette and balanced geometry suit an executive office, a wellness space, a study or a boardroom where a calm, intelligent presence is wanted.

Visual Presence

A single bold black arc sweeps across a hazy, spray-toned ground that drifts from soft teal and pink into warm apricot and gold. Fine drawn lines gather beneath it into fanning bars and a small grid, while a striped rectangle tilts at upper left and a divided disc and slender triangle float to the right. The overall effect is airy and atmospheric — pale, breathed-on colour holding a few precise geometric marks.

About the Art

The black arc set against floating colour belongs to the formal language Kandinsky refined at the Bauhaus, where he isolated the curve and the circle as fundamental elements of abstract construction. Kandinsky used the arc across his career — most famously in his 1912 canvas built around a single sweeping black curve — as a form that concentrates tension and directs the eye through the picture. Here the dark arc functions as Kandinsky's writings describe: a line under tension, gathering the surrounding forms into a deliberate equilibrium.
