Claude Monet's Water Lilies (Wide Panorama) — the immersive panoramic format of his Orangerie cycle, on a wide panoramic canvas.
Visual Presence
A very wide horizontal field of pond surface — lily pads scattered across in soft jade, blue and rose, with vertical reflections of willow trunks descending into the water. The pads cluster more densely toward the right; the left dissolves into pale blue-violet reflections of the sky.
About the Art
Claude Monet treated the panoramic format as the natural scale for his late Water Lilies project, designed to immerse the viewer in continuous water. He produced several wide-format canvases in preparation for the cycle now installed at the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris, each one over two metres across and intended to dissolve into its neighbours when hung in series. This particular composition emphasises the asymmetry of pad distribution — denser on one side, dissolving on the other — a deliberate design choice that allowed the paintings to sit naturally next to each other in the oval rooms.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4 cm (1.57 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
