Hommage to Blériot — Robert Delaunay
A large square Cubist Abstract canvas print in yellow and green. Its rings of yellow, red and green push warm light the length of a long wall, while the deep blue corner at the top right holds one end of it still, so a hallway, a hotel reception or an office lobby reads as movement rather than a blank run of wall.
Visual Presence
Hung two and a half metres square in a hallway, the pale yellow and green ground keeps the whole wall light, so a corridor with one small window stops reading as a tunnel. The red and yellow rings are the only strong heat in the piece and they pull the eye down the length of the hall, which makes people look ahead instead of at their feet. From the far end it reads as one field of turning circles; the propeller blade, the small biplane and the pink Eiffel Tower at the right only separate out when you are standing beside it.
About the Art
Robert Delaunay (1885–1941), Modern, painted 1914. Robert Delaunay (1885-1941), Orphism, painted 1914. We chose it because the painting names its own subject along the bottom edge, in his hand: "premiers disques solaires simultané forme" au grand constructeur Blériot. Louis Blériot had flown the English Channel five years earlier, and Delaunay answers the machine with colour — a propeller, a biplane and the Eiffel Tower surface among the turning discs rather than being drawn. It is glue tempera on canvas, 250 by 251 centimetres, so it was built at wall scale from the start, and it was shown at the Salon des Indépendants in Paris. Kunstmuseum Basel holds it, inventory G 1962.6.

Each print is custom stretched and framed at our Melbourne facility. Every piece is cut and assembled by hand, to ensure the highest quality finish.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
Production: 1–3 weeks depending on finish (rolled fastest, framed longest).
Delivery: Free Australia-wide, fully insured. International rolled freight available — see Global Rolled Shipping for quote.
