Visual Presence
Slender wine-red branches cascade and twist across a warm, bare cream ground, hung with clusters of emerald and jade leaves and small scarlet pendant blooms. The effect is airy yet electric, colour scattered like sparks over a hushed, honey-toned field.
About the Art
Egon Schiele painted Sonnenbaum, also known as Sun Tree or Fuchsia Branches, during a pivotal year in which he began treating plants and trees as expressive, almost living subjects rather than mere scenery. Working in gouache and pencil on paper, he lets the untouched cream ground carry most of the composition, so that the trailing branches, jewel-like leaves and hanging fuchsia blooms read as a nervous, calligraphic drawing in colour. The bare space around the plant lends it a solitary, exposed quality characteristic of his botanical studies of this period, in which a single specimen stands isolated and intensely observed.

Stretched Canvas Construction
Each canvas is mounted on 4.2 cm (1.65 in) deep stretcher bars made from Australian pine. The canvas is tightly stretched and wrapped around these solid wooden frames, giving it a strong, gallery-grade structure with noticeable depth — ideal for large or statement pieces.
This thickness adds durability and a clean, modern presentation, allowing the artwork to stand out beautifully without additional framing.
Edge Style
By default, all stretched canvases use a mirrored edge for a clean, continuous look. If you prefer a black or white edge, please mention it in your checkout notes; otherwise, the mirrored edge will be applied automatically.
For sizes exceeding 200x300 cm, we will split the canvas into two seamless panels to meet courier shipping limitations. The split is crafted to ensure the image remains continuous and flawless across both panels. You can choose to display the panels with or without a gap for different visual effects.
If you select the framed option, each panel will be framed separately to ensure secure shipping and easy handling.
Examples:
- A 240x300 cm artwork will be divided into two panels of 120x300 cm each.
- A 240x400 cm artwork will be split into two panels of 240x200 cm each.
This approach maintains the visual impact and flexibility of oversized pieces while accommodating shipping needs.
