About this artwork

Three stone-like forms stack and balance up the length of this tall composition — a scratched charcoal-black shape above, a textured grey-and-tan boulder at the centre, and a warm sandstone form below — each traced with fine white and black contour lines. Set on a pale, faintly marked ground, the layered, collage-like surfaces feel weathered and tactile. Neutral and modern, it reads as a cairn of balanced stones, grounded and quietly poised.
